TI Bulk Crystal Growth
I use tube furnace to grow TI crystals. X-ray Diffraction can be applied to analyze its components as well as structure and by using Superconducting Quantum Interference Device (SQUID) we can also find its Curie temperature and hysteresis loop. Then we can peel high quality crystal to get thin film for further investigation (IV, magnetoresistance, temperature-dependent resistivity...) using Physical Property Measurement System (PPMS).
Result
The Cr doped Bi2Se3 crystal grown by tube furnace. The surface is mirror-like and ferromagnetism is observed in the crystal .
We are not able to keep getting high quality crystals all the time due to the phase separation problem we have sometimes.
